Art show

A GROUP of local artists and a potter will hold an exhibition and sale at Northallerton town hall from 9.30am until 4pm on July 11. Entry is free and refreshments will be available.The artists, Saturday Scruton Painters, meet on Saturdays in Scruton village hall.

Garden expert

AFTER completing a regeneration of the Grade II* kitchen garden and fig house on the Middleton Lodge estate, landscape designer Tom Stuart Smith will be hosting a dinner there on, July 13. New junction

THE completion of the new junction at Barton Hill on the A64 has marked the end of a 17-year safety campaign. Better signage has been put up, the junction has been staggered and the Castle Howard turn-off is now located further from the foot of the hill to improve safety and visibility.

Aid cash

COLLECTIONS in Thirsk and surrounding villages raised £4,628 during May’s Christian Aid Week. The money will fund emergency aid and long-term improvement in the lives of very poor people in 39 countries.

Cricket deal

A JUNIOR cricket team has won sponsorship from a Dales hotel. The Richmondshire under-11s are sporting the logo of the Wensleydale Heifer on their shirts this season as they compete in the North Yorkshire Area Cricket Council North Division.
