A RNLI volunteer enjoyed a return to the classroom when she shared her experiences with pupils from her former school.
Jayne Mandeville met up with pupils and teachers from Frederick Nattrass primary school when they called into the Hartlepool Ferry Road lifeboat station to learn about sea safety and the work of the RNLI.
And a few days later she returned to her old school in Norton accompanied by the RNLI mascot ‘Stormy Stan’ to talk about sea safety in a front of a full school assembly.
She said: "It was really nice to meet some of the children and staff from my old school at the boathouse and the school but most importantly with the summer holidays coming up it was good to teach the children about being safe at the seaside."
Teacher Jane Sturrock added: ‘We all really enjoyed our visit to the lifeboat station and Jayne did an impressive presentation in front of the children."
