Business raid
THIEVES smashed a front window at a business on the square in Thornton-le-Dale and stole property before fleeing the scene overnight on June 16. Police are appealing for witnesses and information. Bikes stolen
TWO carbon road cycles were stolen from a property in Brompton-on-Swale, Richmond - a woman’s black, white and red “Ribble” and a man’s blue and white “Ridley”. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
Trainee cash
RICHMONDSHIRE District Council has £30,000 to support 15 businesses looking to take on an apprentice. Up to £2,000 is available per business for equipment costs or training. Application forms can be found on richmondshire.gov.uk or by contacting Sam Coultish on 01748-901038.
Open gardens
MARTON-cum-Grafton is holding its annual open gardens event this Sunday. More than 20 gardens will be open. The event runs from 11am until 5pm. Entry is £5 and children are free.
Housing needs
RESIDENTS of Leeming, Londonderry and Exelby are being asked to register their current and future housing needs. A survey has been distributed to help Hambleton District Council assess the need for local homes. The council’s Rural Housing Enabler is holding a drop-in event on June 28 at Leeming village hall from 3pm to 6.30pm.
