Raid appeal

NORTH Yorkshire Police are appealing for information following an attempted burglary at a business on The Link, Northallerton between 9.15pm on June 10 and 8.15am the following morning. Anyone in the area at that time who saw anything suspicious is asked to contact 101.

Wire theft

BURGLARS have stolen a large amount of copper wire from a business premises on Tannery Lane, Northallerton. It happened last weekend and police are urging anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area over June 9 and 10 to contact them on 101.

Spring fair

A SPRING fair with a coconut shy, tombola, games, food and stalls is being held at the Sowerby Scout and Guide HQ, behind Sowerby Parochial Hall, on June 16 from 2pm to 4pm.

Talking Heads

THE Library Theatre company will present Talking Heads by Alan Bennett at the Kilburn Institute on June 15. They will perform "A Lady of Letters" and "A Bed Among the Lentils". Plastic bottles

The Kings Head Hotel in Richmond is urging people to refill water bottles rather than discard them after signing up to the Free Water Bottle Refill Campaign to stop plastic bottles ending up as landfill or litter. It has already removed plastic straws from the business and is looking at other ways to reduce plastic.
