A SPECIAL afternoon tea “Buns, Barnets and Ballgowns” was taken by 250 ladies supporting cancer charity, Bloodwise Wensleydale.
Guests were greeted in a large marquee at Leyburn with a glass of fizz and enjoyed music from saxophonist Harry Mears whilst browsing a selection of gift stalls.
Writer, speaker and hill farmer's daughter Lydia Slack was guest speaker, with many of the ladies present experiencing her anecdotes of life being brought up on a farm.
Demonstrations of dresses were by Ruby’s of Grange Road Darlington along with glamorous hairstyles from Salon Beautique of Leyburn.
After a great deal of hard work the event is expected to raise several thousand pounds for Bloodwise.
