SUNDERLAND FA Cup heroes Jimmy Montgomery and Bobby Kerr dropped in for a treat at a new ice cream parlour in the region.
Montgomery, affectionately known as Monty, was joined by Cup winning captain Kerr, former football manager and player Jimmy Shoulder and former player Gary Bennett at the newly-opened Lickety Split ice cream parlour at Infinite Air/Soccarena, Belmont Industrial Estate, Durham.
The retired footballers are members of the Sunderland AFC Former Players Association and enjoyed a catch-up over an ice cream sundae.
Managing director of Infinite Durham, Austin Carney said: “They were on great form – better form than the club. They enjoyed a selection of sundaes, and a chat with staff and customers and said they’d had a great time.
“We’re confident the business is going to do well here.”
Lickety Split is currently open from 10am till 6.30pm.
