A MAN driving erratically on the A66 near Scotch Corner was found to be four times over the drink-drive limit, police have said.
North Yorkshire Police have now praised the actions of a member of the public who called the police after becoming concerned over the way a vehicle was being driven along the A66 from the direction of Bowes towards Scotch Corner on Easter Sunday.
The incident was transferred from Durham Police to North Yorkshire as the car crossed the county border, and the driver was intercepted at Scotch Corner services.
The driver’s breath test showed a reading of around four times over the drink-drive limit.
He has been bailed to appear before magistrates later this month.
