FAMOUS faces from the world of film and TV are heading for North Yorkshire for the county's fifth annual sci-fi extravaganza.

Leading names from the worlds of Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who and even Harry Potter will be taking part in Sci-Fi Scarborough on April 21 and 22.

They include, among many others,Ken Colley - Admiral Piett in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and Jimmy Vee - R2-D2 in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

Utilising eight different areas of the Spa complex the convention will cover many aspects of fandom, from guest stars to gaming, props to publishers, cosplayers to comic books, artists to authors and more.

Fans are even setting up their own replica of the starship Enterptise D which will also be open for photo opportunities.

Event co-organiser Steve Dickinson said: "So much hard work, time and organisation has gone into SFS this year.

"We have a fantastic guest list and a ton of mind-blowing content. It’s been a pleasure to put together."
