TWO puppies were stolen after a group of men burgled a house in Redcar.
The burglary took place between 10.30pm and 11pm on Tuesday night on the town's Clarendon Street.
Cleveland Police say the householder was threatened and all the men were wearing dark clothing.
They removed two puppies from the address, however both have now been returned to their rightful owner and are safe and well.
Cleveland Police say they are following several lines of inquiry to trace the people believed to be responsible and are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
Anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to ring Detective Sergeant Emma Kensey via the 101 number, quoting Event 49395.
