A HOUSEKEEPER at a care home has won top award from a local college.
Lorraine Ulliott, housekeeper at St Cecilia's care home, in Stepney Road, Scarborough, is profoundly deaf and the award recognised her achievement in completing a distance learning course with Yorkshire Coast College.
She was named equality and diversity student of the year - and after completing her NVQ level two in housekeeping she has her sights set on a level three.
Ms Ulliott said the course proved very useful and provided her with a lot of ideas she could use at St Cecilia's.
