PRINCE Harry set tongues wagging when he hit a North-East town with a group of friends.

The Prince visited pubs and clubs of the tiny town of Yarm, near Stockton-on-Tees.

Assistant manager of the Black Bull, Andrew Lewis, 24, confirmed the Prince's appearance. He said: "He came in the Black Bull with a few friends.

"Nobody told us he was coming, it was totally out of the blue.

"He had his security around him but a few people took mobile phone pictures of him.

"I left him to his own devices as I respect the privacy of all my customers.

"He wasn't here long before they all shot across the road to the club. I think they must have heard it was singles night."

At The Cross Keys Tuesday night is singles night. The beer garden was closed off so Harry and his friends could enjoy a hassle free night.

Matt Marriot, 25, manager of the Cross Keys nightclub in Yarm, said: "One of the doormen told me that Prince Harry was in town but I didn't believe him.

"I thought he was winding me up.

"But the next thing I knew he was there at the bar.

"There were about 12 other people with him and some security guards. People were hysterical with excitement."

She added: "He was drinking lager all night and didn't cause any trouble.

"After a while his party moved from the bar area to the dancefloor area.

"But much to the disappointment of the local girls he didn't get up and have a boogie."
