A HOSPICE is to celebrate its tenth annual Midnight Walk – which this year will take on a regal theme.

St Leonard’s Hospice in York will be running its popular walk on Saturday, June 9, which this year will be taking place in the red, white and blue of royalty.

It will be starting from York College and taking in a seven-mile circular route around the city.

Katie Jackson, fundraiser at the hospice, said: “The event is open to all - men, women and children, so get your team together.

“Think red, white and blue, street parties, crowns, corgis and - of course - glow sticks, all in celebration of the right Royal year that is upon us.

“So wave your Union Jack flags as we claim the streets of York once again in the name of St Leonard’s.”

There will be a bacon sandwich and hot drink waiting for participants at the end and a team of marshals on hand throughout the event. There will also be a street party.

The event will be generating essential funds for St Leonard's Hospice and participants are encouraged to get as much sponsorship money as they can.

Early bird tickets are available until Monday, April 2 at £15 for adults and £10 for children. This will rise to £17 and £12 respectively after April 2. Tickets are available at the hospice website: www.stleonardshospice.org.uk
