A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man was found in an alleyway with serious injuries.
The man was found in an alleyway in Sheriff Hill, in Gateshead, on Friday.
Police were called to Sheriffs Highway at around 11.30pm.
He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) but died on the way to the hospital.
Police say they have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Anyone who saw believes they may have witnessed something or have information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 1344 26/01/18.
