A HOMELESS son breached a restraining order by calling at his mother’s house three times in successive days after Christmas.
As part of a court order imposed in August for an offence of battery on his mother, Shane Cook was forbidden from going to her home, in Seaham.
Durham Crown Court heard he has since received suspended and full jail terms for breaching the order, serving a 12-week sentence in the autumn.
But, having been allowed to stay at his sister’s home in the town on release, he found himself back on the streets after a row shortly after Christmas.
The court heard that he called at his mother’s home on December 27, 28 and 29, claiming he was owed £20 by his sister, after which he was arrested for the breaches of the restraining order.
Cook, 25, of James Street South, Murton, who admitted the breaches, was jailed for 36 weeks.
On appeal to the crown court it was reduced at a 34-week jail term.
