RESIDENTS have been left confused after an apparent attack on their local Co-op store.
Those living in Trimdon Village, County Durham, woke up to police surrounding the store this morning after what officers described as an “incident” in the early hours of Boxing Day.
The store’s security shutters were badly damaged during the incident and police cordoned off the store with tape.
The store was closed all of Tuesday and is expected to be closed again tomorrow.
Durham Police confirmed they are currently investigating the incident at the store but were unable to release any further details.
Further details are expected on Wednesday.
