A MAN was airlifted to hospital yesterday after suffering a serious medical episode.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to Mickleton near Barnard Castle at 1.45pm.
Medics from the charity worked alongside paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service to treat the man on scene before airlifting him to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The flight took ten minutes and the man was in a serious but stable condition on arrival.
