ALDI stores in Darlington are recalling a range of peanuts due to a possible health risk.
Clancy’s Barbecue Flavour Coated Peanuts contain cashew nuts, which are undeclared on the label, say the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
"This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts," a spokesman said.
The affected product was only available in three regional areas Darlington, Neston on Merseyside and Goldthorpe in Yorkshire.
No other Aldi products are known to be affected.
The FSA say if you have bought the product and have an allergy to nuts, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought.
"Aldi is recalling the above product from customers. The company is also issuing a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled," say the FSA.
A spokesperson for Aldi said: “We have recalled a single batch of this product as a precaution because a small number of packs may contain cashew nuts. This ingredient was not declared on the product label.
“Customers should return the product to their nearest store where they will receive a full refund.”
