A MAN has appeared in court charged with aggravated burglary, assault and making threats to kill.
Alexander Duncan Millar is alleged to have entered a property in Easson Road in Darlington as a trespasser armed with a plank of wood on November 11.
Once inside, the 25-year-old, of Bondgate, Darlington, is alleged to have attempted to inflict grievous bodily harm.
As well as aggravated burglary, Mr Millar faces a charge of criminal damage after allegedly destroying windows and a mirror.
He is also accused of causing actual bodily harm and making threats to kill towards the same person.
Mr Millar did not enter pleas for the offences when he appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court yesterday afternoon.
The bench were told the aggravated burglary charge was too serious to be dealt with at the magistrates’ court, and so committed the case to Teesside Crown Court in Middlesbrough.
No application for bail was made and Mr Millar was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on December 11 at 10am.
