POLICE say 'rubber-neckers' caused an accident on the opposite side of the road to where they were dealing with a crashed lorry.
Officers were dealing with the aftermath of the crash on the northbound A19 on Saturday morning.
The carriageway was closed from A1027 to allow recovery of the lorry which crashed at 7.30pm on Friday night.
The closure meant increased traffic through Stockton. The road was later reopened, but not before there had been another accident at the scene.
Cleveland Police Road Policing Unit reported: "A19 now open fully. Only one accident on the south bound carriage way due to "rubber necking" of the incident."
