CHILDREN were in awe of a poppy truck and what it represents when it pulled into their school yard this week.
Pupils at West Cornforth Primary School, near Ferryhill, were delighted when haulier Christine Langham visited them in her lorry, which is decorated in tribute to the Armed Forces.
The visit was organised by Ms Langham and veteran Andy Denholm, who led a community campaign to knit around 25,000 poppies for Remembrance displays, to thank the school for always supporting memorial services in the village.
