POETRY fans are in for a treat on Thursday when Hartlepool Central Library presents its Summer Poetry Workshop.
It will feature poetry readings and a discussion hosted by local poet Derek Brown, followed by an opportunity for members of the public to read out their own work or a favourite poem by any author.
Phyl Rafferty, Hartlepool's senior library manager, said: "Hartlepool is a town full of budding poets. We were delighted by the response to the poetry evening we held in March."
Entry to the event, which runs from 2pm to 4pm, is free and refreshments will be provided.
It will also mark the launch of the Wet and Wonderful poetry competition, which will run until September 1 and has been organised in conjunction with the BBC's Breathing Places.
