THE country’s only combined jukebox and record shop has expanded for the third time in ten years as it capitalises on the boom in vinyl.
Betterdaze, which is also thought to be the UK’s only record-only jukebox hire firm, has expanded its Northallerton store as part of its third expansion in ten years.
By taking over a vacant shop next to its Zetland Street premises, owner Gary Lewis has created a larger new record shop for LP-lovers and single-seeking customers. The expansion has also create an enlarged jukebox showroom.
Now in its tenth year of trading – and seventh in North Yorkshire’s county town, Betterdaze has seen a steady growth in the popularity of vinyl records and vintage jukeboxes, with a growing customer base of record collectors of all ages from all over the country.
Gary said: "We started our first shop in Northallerton in 2010 with the smaller shop next door, but soon outgrew that and moved to the current store four years ago.
“Our stock of records, hi-fi equipment and jukeboxes has grown steadily since then, so when the former computer shop next door became available we jumped at the opportunity to expand once again.
“It's a great time to be in business in Northallerton with so much happening in and around the town."
The expanded store includes several new features.
