TIME is ticking on an exhibition to see a host of rare clocks made in North Yorkshire between 1720 and1900.

The free exhibition at The Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn explores the rich clock-making history of the county.

With more than 60 grandfather clocks, wall and table clocks, watches and barometers, the impressive display has already drawn hundreds of visitors.

The exhibition showcases clocks from Ripon, Thirsk, Northallerton, Bedale, Masham and Richmond among others and of particular interest to horologists are at least ten early clocks from York.

There is also a particularly strong representation of Wensleydale clock makers.

The exhibition runs until August 16.
