FIRE crews have dealt with a fire under a railway bridge.
The blaze at Marina Way, Hartlepool, was blamed on an accumulation of overgrown grass and rubbish, however fire services were unable to confirm whether it was started deliberately or not.
It occurred just yards away from a line which carries Northern Rail services between Teesside and Tyneside.
Crews from Cleveland Fire Brigade put out the fire, which had been reported at about 5.30pm on Thursday.
Trains were unaffected by the blaze. Locals suggested the area underneath the bridge was a regular hang-out for drug users, while there has also been problems with graffiti.
