HARTLEPOOL'S Graeme Storm will have to make do with being in the money at the Scottish Open after a second successive 72 at Loch Lomond on Saturday was followed up with a final round 74.
The event was won by Gregory Havret, who clinched a cheque for 738,000 euros and a place in next week's Open Championship after winning a sudden death play-off with Phil Mickleson.
Both Havret and Mickleson finished on 270, after final rounds of 69 and 69 respectively.
Storm fired a double bogey on the par four tenth yesterday to leave him four over for the day, but picked up shots on the 14th and 15th - both par 4 - to improve his tally.
Pars on the closing holes put him two under for the tournament, in a tie for 39th place on 282, which earns him around 29,000 euros.
Storm, the overnight leader with Mickelson on Thursday, had hoped to head into next week's Open with a second Tour win under his belt, but never really recovered from a depressing double bogey at the long sixth hole on Saturday.
In a round which also included four birdies, Storm struggled for consistency and had to settle for a three round total of 209.
