GREEN-fingered residents of a market town have been rewarded in a tidy gardens competition.
Richmond Town Council awarded the Pattison Shield for the most improved garden to John and Maura Deighton, of High Pottergate. The Ravensworth Shield, in the caravan park section, went to Mrs M Shanks, of Richmond Caravan Park.
The King's Head Hotel won the commercial category and the Turf Hotel was best floral public house.
