HISTORY is made this weekend as a unique double programme takes place.

For the first time a new rule has been invoked that sees the matches originally scheduled for June 23 moved en masse for completion tomorrow.

Burnmoor and Whitburn will still occupy the two top slots come tomorrow night, such is their lead over the field.

Top dogs Burnmoor go into the twin challenges with a 25-point lead, and enjoy home advantage on both days with Eppleton and Hetton Lyons respectively.

They have a full-strength side again, although both their opponents will also have their best sides in the field.

Eppleton complete an extremely tough weekend when they entertain Whitburn tomorrow, but they lose the holidaying David Tate after the game at Burnmoor. Michael Hall steps up to replace him.

Whitburn today entertain a Horden side who have moved up to fifth with just one league defeat to date.

Whitburn face a number of changes as Neil Ayre is working today, and Paul Marshall is on his holidays. Vice skipper Paul Cook is available today but not tomorrow, while Andrew Turns and Andrew Gilbert come in for both matches.

Horden have Carl Watson back in place of Paul Franks. They will have to put on their Sunday best for their second game at Philadelphia.

Phili have been totally frustrated by the weather in the last month and have only had 17 overs of league cricket in that time, with three matches failing to start and the fourth abandoned.

They retain an unbeaten record and name a full-strength line-up for both matches, in the first of which they entertain Durham City.

Durham received a massive boost from their display last weekend when they came desperately close to becoming the first team to topple the league leaders. The rearranged match tomorrow gives them the chance to put that first notch in the win column at Seaham Harbour, if they don't succeed at Phili.

South Hetton welcome Boldon and then Marsden..

At full-strength for the Boldon games, Hetton are severely depleted tomorrow as Gary Burlinson, Freddie Napier, David Wilkinson and John Pendlington are absent.

Boldon still have designs on third place and they will be looking to their second game at Felling to round off what they hope will be a superb weekend.
