POLICE are searching for a taxi driver who failed to stop following a collision with a cyclist on a country road.
The cyclist, a 42-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was left with a damaged bicycle after the incident on the B1269 road near Guisborough on Sunday, July 30.
The collision occurred at 9.20am between Guisborough and Dunsdale near to Tockett’s Bridge Farm.
A silver taxi, believed to be a Vauxhall, collided with the cyclist but the driver left the scene before the police arrived.
Police officers believe the vehicle will have sustained front and nearside damage as a result of the collision.
They are appealing to the taxi driver or anyone with information relating to to his identity to contact PC Dave Alcock on Cleveland Police’s non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 135346.
Witnesses to the collision and anyone with any other information that could help officers with their enquires are also encouraged to come forward.
