A MAN has been arrested after police seized what they believe to be more than £4,000 worth of heroin from an industrial unit
Officers from Cleveland Police’s Community Drugs Enforcement Team carried out a warrant at an address on Tofts Road West in Hartlepool on Wednesday morning.They discovered a quantity of what they suspect is the class A drug.
A 50-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. The man has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
PC Brendan Lowes, from the Community Drugs Enforcement Team, thanked members of the public for tipping them off about the industrial unit.
“Drugs activity will not be tolerated in Cleveland,” he said. “I would like to thank the local community for coming forward with information and I would continue to encourage anyone with information regarding suspected drugs activity in their area to contact police.”
