A MODEL railway display rolls into Hartlepool this weekend.

The Hartlepool Model Rail Exhibition will be held at Manor College of Technology, Owton Manor Lane, on Saturday and Sunday, between 10am and 5.30pm.

More than 30 model railway layouts will be on display, with 20 model railway traders and societies expected to attend.

The event is supported by Hornby and Dapol Model Railways, as well as Model Rail Magazine.

Event organiser Malcolm Priestman said: "This is a very significant event for Hartlepool, as neither Hornby nor Dapol have supported exhibitions in the North-East previously.

"Normally, they attend large events in places such as Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre or the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, in Glasgow, so it is a great pleasure to have them here."

All are welcome to attend the exhibition, with proceeds after costs going to Manor College of Technology.

Admission is £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for concessions, or £8 for a family of four.
