AN Italian wine cellar has opened for business in Durham Markets.
Giovanni Viglianisi, who owns Giovanni's Enoteca in Gilesgate, will sell only Italian wines from the store, which he launched to expand his business into Durham City centre.
Mr Viglianisi, who also runs www.g-enoteca.com, said: "We already have a business on the edge of the city, but there is strong customer demand for our products in the heart of the city centre. Our range of wines will offer something for all tastes and budgets."
The store will also offer traditional Italian foods such as pasta and tomatoes and will be managed by Mr Viglianisi's daughter, Giuliana.
