HEAVY showers were not enough to deter young revellers from their very music festival.
The Sounds in the Grounds festival, at Eppleby Forcett School, attracted a crowd of more than 700 people - and raised more than £2,000 for school funds.
The festival began with a singing performance which included a song the juniors had written about global warming.
And by the time the band, the Mosaics, started their set, the rain had stopped, which encouraged more people to the front of the stage.
It was also an opportunity for some new bands to show off their talent - the Ben H Band and Ill-fated Riot may now be going on to appear at the annual Richmond Live event.
