A spokeswoman for the Great North Air Ambulance said the Police helicopter had picked up a paramedic as it flew to the scene.
She said: "They arrived at the scene at 4pm and left at 4.07pm and arrived at James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough, at 4.11 pm, carrying an 11-year-old boy with a severe head injury.
"The Teesside aircraft arrived on the scene at 4.04pm and picked up an 11-year-old boy with abdominal and chest injuries and lifted off by 4.10 pm.
"The Cumbrian helicopter then arrived and helped with the walking wounded but no one else needed airlifting."
