YOUNG people spent some time undertaking voluntary work in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
During their summer camp at Redmire, guides from the Northallerton and Crakehall units worked with park rangers on tree conservation on the bank of the River Swale at Reeth. They also took part in a bug survey.
For the rest of the week’s camp the girls took part in a series of fun activities aimed at developing teamwork and camp skills.
Some of the girls even built their own shelters to sleep out under the stars.
Guides spokesman Julie Cape said: “It was a great opportunity to learn about the work of the National Park and experience new activities in the local countryside. The girls were enthusiastic and achieved a great deal.
