PLANS for a health and social care village for the Greater Eston area will be available to view this week.

The plans for Eston Health and Social Care Village will be displayed at the City Learning Centre, next to Eston Sports Academy, Normanby Road, South Bank on Thursday, from 2pm to 8pm.

The exhibition is an opportunity for people to share their views on the proposed scheme with the primary care trust and developers Ettrick Ltd and Weatherhead Construction before a planning application for the scheme is submitted.

The scheme will include the relocation of five GP practices, a modern library for South Bank and a One Stop Shop for council services.

A planning application for the scheme, to serve the Eston-South Bank area, near Middlesbrough, is expected to be considered by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council in September.

The Department of Education and Skills said there is a general consent for the use of part of the St Peter's Catholic College playing fields for the development.
