A CAR club has been launched to try and make it easier for visitors arriving in Durham.
People arriving in Durham by train will now be able to access easier onward transport as a result of a new partnership with Enterprise Car Club.
Virgin Trains East Coast is aiming to be the first operator to integrate a car club service at smaller city stations.
Durham is one of four stations on the line to get the new service.
Tim Hedley Jones, major projects director for Virgin Trains East Coast, said: “It’s important to us that customers have a great door to door experience, which is why we have invested £50 million in on-board refurbishments and improvements.
“Making our stations even more convenient for onward travel is the next natural step.”
Car club vehicles are sited in the station car park.
