SEVEN schoolgirls at Durham Chorister School are celebrating after being selected for the under-13 Durham Youth Hockey Academy.
After an outstanding success in the Durham County round of the under-11 National Mini Hockey Championships, Lyndsay Connor and Holly Lindley, both 12, Alissa Storer, Sarah Bulmer, Jessica England, Naomi Smith and Hannah Swainston, all 11, are now busy training with the squad for the under-13 Durham Youth Hockey Academy.
This is the initial feeder group of girls for Durham County Schoolgirls Hockey.
Lyndsay Connor has another feather in her cap, as she has been selected to take part in the under-14 North Schoolgirls Development training sessions.
"This is an incredible achievement for such a large group of young girls," said Elaine Plummer, the head of girls' games at the Chorister School.
"They have worked extremely hard this year to achieve both team and individual success, I am immensely proud of them."
