PREPARATIONS are under way to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the first steam train in a seaside town.
The celebrations in Saltburn will take place in 2011, but an exhibition will be held in Saltburn Community Hall on Sunday to remind everyone of the success of the 125th celebrations and start detailed planning for the 150th.
The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm and features photographs and other memorabilia from the town's former Victorian Week celebrations, which ran every year for about ten years, as well as cinema coverage and archive footage.
Entry to the exhibition is free and refreshments will be available.
Anyone who would like to get involved in the preparations for the 2011 celebration is welcome to attend.
