A MAN is in police custody after being arrested during an ongoing incident in Bishop Auckland.
Six police vehicles, including a riot van, swarmed the town centre just after 2pm this afternoon.
Officers were seen running to the front and rear of a row of businesses on Newgate Street which have residential flats upstairs.
One man wearing a hooded top was led out of a building in handcuffs and put into the back of a police vehicle.
Police said in a statement: βA 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to notify Northumbria Police of a change of address.
βHe is currently being held in custody and will be questioned later.β
