A 41-YEAR-OLD man is still critically ill in hospital after falling from the clock outside York railway station.
An air ambulance landed in the grounds of the Principal Hotel at around 11am on Wednesday and took the man to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: “The man’s condition is described as critical and life threatening.”
An LGI spokesman said this morning that the patient was “stable but remains critically unwell in ICU.”
Queen Street and Station Road in York were both closed and paramedics were called to the scene after the incident.
Police were alerted shortly before 10.20am and were seen trying to talk the man down as he sat on the clock above the station’s main facade.
