A MILITARY garden project has had its first taste of success after scooping a gold award and best in show at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show.
Members of 6 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps, based at Dishforth, North Yorkshire, entered the biggest garden ever to compete in the show and were delighted to win top awards.
The show garden is part of a wider project to build a memorial garden on the Dishforth camp to provide a regimental focus during ceremonial occasions and provide a reflective space for those who currently serve, and their families.
Local schoolchildren have also been involved by planting flowers in boots for the garden.
