WORK to create a new roundabout for a housing development is due to get underway on Tuesday.
The construction of the roundabout will provide access to the Mount Leven village development on the A1044 Leven Bank Road, near Yarm.
The works are set to take 18 weeks to complete and traffic management will be in place throughout.
The first phase of work will include off-peak lane closures, with traffic signals, between 9.30am and 3pm.
The second phase will see traffic using the newly constructed area as works continue in the existing carriageway, with off-peak lane closures in operation when necessary.
Councillor Mike Smith, Stockton Borough Council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “These are vital works to create the necessary infrastructure required to service the new Mount Leven village development and, as always, we’re doing all we can to minimise the disruption and inconvenience to residents.”
