AN unseen collection of archaeological artefacts spanning the centuries is going on display at Richmondshire Museum from Saturday.

The exhibition features finds from the local area, with items ranging from the Mesolithic/Neolithic era, to the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Roman period and through to the 17th and 18th centuries.

It includes a Romano-British internment discovered at Uckerby and many other finds which offer an insight into those who have lived in and travelled trans-Pennine routes through Richmondshire over the centuries.

The museum’s honorary director Mike Wood said: “This exhibition fits well with the Romano-British finds now being unearthed along the new A1 Leeming to Barton road and adds to the story of Scotch Corner now being revealed.”

This and other exhibitions will run until October 31.
