KEEN photographers are hoping to bag a £1,000 cash prize for capturing the region’s character on camera.
The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle has teamed up with the Northern Echo’s publisher, Newsquest, to launch a competition to celebrate its exhibition, Only in England.
The exhibition features photographs by Tony Ray-Jones and Martin Parr. Both captured English traditions and eccentricities unique to their time, and the museum hopes people will capture images that represent the distinctive character of the North today.
There are three categories, 11 years and under, 12 to 17 years and 18 years and over.
- Entries are already flooding in and others who wish to enter should complete a form on the museum’s website and email their image to onlyinthenorth@thebowesmuseum.org.uk before April 23.
