SURFERS took advantage of a coastal swell at the mouth of the River Tees yesterday to ride the rolling waves coming in off the North Sea.
Award-winning photographer Paul Kingston captured these dramatic images of an athletic surfer carrying out some impressive manoeuvres on his board.
The weather conditions also created some towering waves , such as those pictured here crashing against the South Gare Lighthouse, near Redcar.
The 13 metre high lighthouse is a listed building – owned and operated by PD Ports – which still uses its original lenses
