A MOBILE service has been set up as a temporary replacement after a village Post Office was robbed at knifepoint.
Wingate Lane Post Office in Wheatley Hill has been closed since thr robbery on February 23.
A mobile Post Office service has now started operating from Wingate Lane, run by the Postmaster of Sherburn.
The Post Office says it believes a mobile service offers “the best possible solution to restore Post Office services to this area as quickly as possible while Post Office seeks a permanent solution”.
Network operation manager Gail Burnett said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Wheatley Hill area, since the temporary closure of the Post Office.
“We are confident this temporary Mobile service will meet their needs of the local community.”
