A MAN who died following an alleged stabbing has been named as Frankie Cooper.
The 22-year-old, of Newcastle, died in hospital after he was allegedly attacked in near the city’s library in Princess Square on Monday, February 20.
He died of his injuries on Saturday and a murder investigation was launched.
Two people charged in connection with the alleged attack are remanded in custody pending their court appearances.
Dairan Browne, 18, of Shepherds Hay, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire and a 16-year-old from Newcastle, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with a Section 18 Assault, known as wounding with intent. They will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on March 23.
