GERVASE Phinn, one of Britain’s best love comic writers and raconteurs, is to bring his stories to life for audiences in Barnard Castle next month.

On Saturday, March 4, Phinn will share his acclaimed tales of life as a school inspector in the Yorkshire Dales through side-splitting retellings, anecdotes and poems at The Witham.

An Evening with Gervase Phinn will showcase Phinn’s keen ear for the absurd and sharp eye for the ludicrous that have delighted audiences and earned him rave reviews all across the country.

Peter Dixon, of Funny Way to Be, which is hosting the evening, said: “Gervase Phinn is such a joy to see live; his stories are both hugely comical, and extremely touching.

“For the past two decades he’s brought glee to everyone who’s heard him tell his tales, and we can’t wait to have him with us at Funny Way to Be.”

Tickets cost £15 and available from funnywaytobe.com
