A HELPLINE aimed at students has been given £300 to help it reach more people.
Durham University’s Nightline service is staffed by a team of fifty anonymous volunteers, who are available every night during term time between 9pm and 7am and offer a non-judgemental listening service.
The £300 donation from the Galaxy Hot Chocolate fund will be used to help advertise the service to students.
Durham Nightline director Rosa Tallack said: “This donation from the Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund means we can continue to publicise the service across campus, so each of the 17,500 students knows we are available for support.
“Our mission is to ensure that all students feel able to contact us should they need to, this is especially important now as more students than ever are experiencing mental health problems.”
