THE horse-racing industry in Ryedale area of North Yorkshire is in line for a further boost.
Helmsley Horse Racing Ltd is set to get planning approval from Ryedale District Council next week to build an equestrian centre, 40 stables and an indoor exercise track at Common Farm, Upper Helmsley, some seven miles east of York.
Planning officer Charlotte Cornforth said in a report to councillors the development would be appropriate in the green belt area and would provide between 25 and 40 full time jobs.
